i just thought of a running by a new business idea i just thought of. what you think?

the tesla roadster is a 2022 vehicle that costs $250,000 for a founders edition or $200,000 for a non-founders edition. they are identical

this cars performance is on supercar territory meaning compete with ferrari and lambo. it goes 0-60 in 1.9s which is one of the fastest prouction cars ever made! i am choosing this car due to tesla's low maintenance costs (but roadster maintenance cost is unknown)

people are excitied about this car. but due to its high price, almost no one can afford it. there is a market for the car and dreamers

my business will give people teh opportunity to rent the car for a weekend! you will expereince what it will be like to drive a supercar of your dreams! my business makes your dream a reality.

pricing and details:

lets say i buy the non-founders edition at $200,000. add tax, options, etc. say its $250,000 out the door

i can rent it out to mid/upper class people as a weekend vacation car. $1000 for a weekend (saturday and sunday). 300 miles per weekend.

in a 1 year period (52 weeks), i get $52,000 from renting it out and put 15,600 miles on it.

• 1 year = $52,000; 15,600 miles

• 2 years = $104,000; 31,200 miles

...

• 5 years = $260,000; 78,000 miles

since the car is cost <$250,000, you break even at year 5. also on year 5, youd have made enough to cover maintenance costs

after year 5, the car is 100% paid for via rentals. it has 78,000 miles on it. now, you would sell the car.

say you sell a 5 year old tesla roadster with 78,000 miles on it for a bargain at $100,000. this is assuming massive deprecition!

so, in 5 years, you can profit ~$100,000 and have it during this 5 years as a daily driver if you wanted (assuming your miles and the rented miles are <300mi/week)
