The idea of Battle Royale "elimination" style game mode.

Honestly to me, this sounds great idea: very long distance race (cross country or even cross continental) with elimination style "deaths" for the last player on leaderboard. Imagine joining a 100 player race with different classes starting in different locations (like dirt bikes and dirt cars starts from rally-areas and supercars start at highways and streetcars start in cities to make very fair for each class). Obviously the map should be insanely large, with longer distances to drive for supercars and shorter for street cars, but they need to do a lot of turns. Have 3 classes - offroad, super/hyper and street. And each of them must be balanced so you can be in a rally buggy and have chance to win against Bugatti player starting at the same time but driving through hills instead of roads. The "battle royale" aspect of this would be the best player against the clock to win, even if they never see each other on the map (or we can incorporate areas where offroad has to cross the highway at some point or hypercars not only drive on highway all the time but also do turns in cities and drive slower.

I think there is huge potential in cross country 100-player BR-style championships.
