The phrase 'best of the best' is quite underrated. How do you pick the best out of a list of cars that are already champions in themselves. After big numbers on speed and power boil down, it all settles on brand loyalty or a sense of character that only a few can feel in a car.
Following is a list of five cars - some launched, some awaited next year - that you will have a hard time picking a favourite from.
Lamborghini Aventador S
A hotter variant of Lamborghini Aventador, called the Aventador S, is likely to be launched in January, 2017.
Recent reports suggest the Aventador facelift will be launched internationally next month. The brand has not made any revelation on the upgrades to the car, but it will have a new design and more power, with additional tech.
The Aventador S is expected a state of tune akin to the Centenario – 770hp, whereas the current Aventador has 701hp unit. Both have the same 6.5-litre V12. The S will likely have the same rear wheel steering system.

Ferrari J50 Special Edition
Proving beyond a doubt that it knows how to mark a milestone, Ferrari has unveiled a new special edition Targa roof car - the J50 - to celebrate its 50th year in Japan.
The J50 is based on the current series production 488 Spider, but, from the outside at least, the only real clue is the engine note.
Instead of 660hp, it produces 690hp and because the car's also lower, has more pronounced aerodynamics, larger air intakes and some of its internal hardware, including radiators, have been moved for greater efficiency, it could be noticeably quicker.
However, Ferrari isn't giving out any performance data. Nor is it revealing any pricing details, but expect this car, if you can get on the waiting list - bespoke Ferraris have a habit of selling out while they're still in the initial sketch stage - to cost at least twice as much as the current $275,000 488 Spider.

Lamborghini Huracan RWD
Called simply the Huracán rear-wheel drive Spyder and revealed at the LA Auto Show, such a choice of moniker ensures that there can be absolutely no doubt what the car is, or what it will offer -- 572bhp going exclusively to the rear wheels and a roof that goes up and down.
Since Audi's takeover, Lamborghinis have been produced predominantly with all-wheel drive to help keep their ferocious power in check. And it's a decision that on the whole has worked for the better. Lamborghini is setting a new annual sales record very single year.
Offering 100% more traction, plus a raft of cutting-edge stability systems has made it possible to make these cars faster and faster without fear of endangering the lives of clients (every car in the current range goes beyond 200mph), there are always going to be those that suggest that Audi is actually being a bit of a spoilsport by adding such controls.

Limited Edition Mercedes-Maybach S650
Mercedes Benz have stepped it up a notch on the bling in its latest cabrio collab. New Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet has headlamps lined with Swarovski crystals. The car is a head turner with swoopy bodywork, unique 20 inch alloys and plenty of Maybach badges.
But it's not no poser, its also packed with the same 6.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V12 petrol engine that is found in the AMG S65 saloon. It churns out 621bhp, enough to get to 62mph in a little over 4 seconds.
Attention to detail is quite prominent. Tiny Maybach logos are actually projected on the when the doors are thrown open. There's comfy leather and nut brown magnolia inside, and also every other little trinket that's available on an S-Class, including Airscarf heaters.

Aston Martin DB4GT
The lightweight two-seater coupe that tore up the track from 1959 to 1963 and gave Ferrari food for thought, is set to be reborn as a $2 million continuation model.
Following a similar move from Jaguar, who has put both the lightweight E-Type and XKSS back into very limited hand-built production, Aston Martin has announced ambitious plans to build 25 'new' DB4 GTs plus a bespoke racing series in which owners will be able to compete.
"For over 60 years Aston Martin Works has devoted unrivalled skill and experience to preserving Aston Martin's heritage. Now we are creating something for the future," said Paul Spires, Commercial Director, Aston Martin Works.
Based on the standard DB4, the GT ditched the rear seats plus 13cm of wheelbase and 91kg in mass. Its 3.7 liter straight-six engine with twin-spark ignition, used technology from Aston's 1959 Le Mans-wining DBR1, and could produce 302bhp (62bhp more than a standard DB4).
