Congratulations on your decision to visit such a lovely cosmopolitan city. Winnipeg is right up there with other world class cities like London, Paris, Singapore, Milan New York.. When in Winnipeg, Take a stroll north on main from your hotel. Main Street showcases the best this city has to offer. Higgins is a lovely street and make sure to stop in at the Michelin rated bistro at the Main Street project, top notch pea soup. Get a taste of local culture here. You will meet the creme de la creme here.oh how I long for coming back to Winnipeg with its highly educated citizenry (Patrick allard) it’s immense wealth, perfectly manicured and well maintained streets, virtually non existent crime rate, world class restaurants (sals and dare I say chicken delight) top notch Major League Baseball (gold eyes) elite schools (red river community college) and it’s year round beautiful weather (winter especially) with an abundance of things to do (green brier inn). You will see customized supercars everywhere (Chevy cavaliers, Honda civics, Pontiac sunfires and Kias to name a few) Hire luxury ground transportation (duffys taxi) and head to the Winnipeg Riviera (oasis beach and campground) for some serious r and r under the sun to see and be seen at this unique beach resort (October is a wonderful time to visit, as most world Travelers set their sights on other world class destinations in October) Also, mosquitos,wasps,canker worms are virtually non existent in October. World class shopping awaits at Krazy Bins and Liquidation warehouse. Giant Tiger should be avoided when social assistance checks come in, it really becomes a zoo. Stop in for a quick bite at Portage Place food court on Tuesdays, tacos are only two dollars at Winnipeg’s best Mexican restaurant (taco time) you will love it there! I’m so jealous! Take lots of pictures, because once you head home, Winnipeg will be just a memory.
