lamboblogging

There's a company based in Oregon state where the CEO's wife is still on the payroll, yet hasn't worked in the office in about a decade. She's been on "maternity leave" for the entire duration of her absence, which is fair, she did have a child. Their daughter, not too long out of college, has been working an office position for a little while now and recently purchased a $400k home. Knowing what sort of pay the office employees at this company get ($40k-ish per year, before tax), very few of them have been able to afford a home even with a second source of income from a spouse/partner. The CEO shows up every few months with a new supercar or hypercar, while employees joke half-scornfully, half-exhaustedly about how the wife is still on maternity leave, or that every beverage purchased from the company is adding to the Lambo Fund.

I get that you can pay your employees whatever you want as CEO (it's a small company, and he is also happens to be the payroll department) and when starting and maintaining a successful business, you're going to pay yourself what you want to pay yourself. But showing up in a new Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, McLaren, etc. while the rest of your employees save years to buy a nice used Subaru can leave a bad taste in one's mouth.

My questions are: is there any way an audit can performed on this company? Can a paper trail get started in anonymity (he comes across as a fairly powerful individual, and I don't want him knowing who I am) for investigating this company for unfair/favorable payment of certain employees? Is it entirely legal for someone to be receiving pay that long without having lifted a finger for the last 10 or so years? Or is this just a case of someone playing by the rules and too bad so sad, find a new company to work for that should pay you what you're worth? What can one or multiple employees do here?

Thanks for your time!
