Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this I have recently been discussing cars with a friend I don't have my own car as of yet but I have never heard of so called low performance cars such as a Ford focus RS or a audi RS and why is there so many different types of RS cars such as a RS 3 or 4 or 5 etc.

Another thing that we discussed is a fiesta ST what are these types of cars? are they classed as high end top of the range vehicles? Apparently an audi RS is a 4 litre engine that's insane are these road legal? I just wanted to ask questions to someone who can explain to me in full detail what these different cars are fiesta ST Ford focus RS, Audi RS what are these cars?

Sorry for the random post but I have honestly never heard of these cars are they suppose to be hypercars? Or low performance cars for people who can't afford supercars etc if someone could explain in depth about these different cars it would be a huge help thankyou :)
