Audi has announced the updated S7 Sportback will start at $84,895. Although it shares a powertrain with the S6, the 2020 Audi S7 is quite a bit more expensive than that $74,895 sedan.
Still, the S7 is less expensive than the 2019 Lexus GS F sedan, which starts at $85,595. And if you want to look at it this way, it’s a bargain compared to the similarly potent Porsche Panamera GTS that’s priced from $129,550.
The new S7 makes 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque from a new 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. A 48-volt electric compressor works to prevent turbo lag. Power is routed to all four wheels via a standard eight-speed automatic. Audi estimates a 0–60 time of 4.5 seconds, 0.1 second behind its estimate for the S6.
Speaking of performance, the S7 comes standard with a specially tuned adaptive air suspension. An optional S sport package adds all-wheel steering, a sport exhaust, and red brake calipers. The interior seems just as luxurious in the S7 as the S6. Inside the cabin, standard goodies include leather sport seats with diamond stitching, a fully digital instrument cluster, four-zone automatic climate control, a top-view camera system with 360-degree view, and a dual-touchscreen setup with navigation. Prestige models, which start at $90,495, get standard HD-Matrix-design LED headlights with laser light and high-beam assist. A black exterior kit is available on the S7 for a darkened outside treatment.
