The 2019 Volkswagen Arteon was recently shown in U.S.-spec form at the 2018 Chicago auto show, but Volkswagen isn’t stopping with the standard model. At the 2018 New York auto show, the German automaker will show a new R-Line appearance package that will be available to all trim levels of the Arteon.
The R-Line package gets you plenty of cosmetic enhancements such as a choice of 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, a unique front bumper with large lower air intakes finished in gloss black, a black rear spoiler, an R-Line badge, and black air inlets.
Inside, the R-Line Appearance package adds a new R-Line logo for the welcome graphics when you start the car, contrast stitching on the steering wheel and shift lever, paddle shifters, metallic interior accents, black headlights, stainless steel pedals, and door sills with the R-Line logo. Sadly, the R-Line package doesn’t come with any suspension upgrades.
Powering the U.S.-spec 2019 Arteon is a 268-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard while all-wheel drive is optional across the whole lineup. Volkswagen will make the R-Line package available when the 2019 Arteon goes on sale in fall 2018, slotting above the Passat as a more premium entry. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
