Lamborghini Aventador S Takes on Miami in New Ignition

The Aventador has transformed from a strictly straight-line performer to a more livable supercar that gladly tackles corners and winding mountain roads. Unfortunately, its newly acquired skills won’t prove too helpful when we drive it over the flat terrain of Florida, but the Aventador S shines in other ways. On the latest episode of Ignition, host Jonny Lieberman shows us why the Aventador S is great for places like Miami.

First, Lieberman hits South Beach in an Aventador S with an entourage of other high-profile Lambos, including an extremely rare Veneno coupe. An Aventador SV also shows up, boasting just 10 more hp than the Aventador S. Packing a 6.5-liter V-12, the Aventador S delivers 730 hp and 509 lb-ft of torque.

All that power made itself known on a stretch of road 165 miles south of Miami in Key West. Here, Lieberman traveled to test the Aventador’s long-held strengths as a straight-line king, and it didn’t disappoint. “I’ve been behind the wheel of a few cars that are quicker—not by much but they’re quicker—but never anything as violent,” Lieberman concluded. “The Aventador S is a bomb with four wheels, an explosion you can point down the road.”

Find out the final verdict on the Aventador S, and what Lieberman’s favorite supercar is, in the video below.
