2018 Shelby Raptor Priced at $117,460

Need a better Ford F-150 Raptor with more horsepower and torque? The 2018 Shelby Raptor package from Shelby American adds an additional 75 horses and 100 lb-ft of torque—bringing the pickup’s output to 525 hp and 610 lb-ft.

Not bad considering the stock 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 makes 450 hp and 510 lb-ft. The EcoBoost engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Only 500 2018 Shelby Raptors will be available, according to the company, and one of these Baja-ready prerunners will set you back $117,460 a pop versus $68,165 for a stock Raptor from Ford. If you’re on a budget and already have a 2017 Raptor on hand, you can get a conversion for $49,295.

“During the past two years, we’ve added several new vehicles to our lineup in direct response to customer demand, including a trio of purpose-built trucks,” said Joe Conway, Shelby American CEO, in a statement. “The Shelby Raptor builds on our rich heritage with trucks, giving enthusiasts even more ways to have high horsepower fun.”

In addition to the extra power, Shelby upgraded the Raptor’s suspension with adjustable two-stage shocks, adding to a set of kit that includes all-wheel drive, a locking center differential, and an auto-shift to rear-drive.

“The Shelby Raptor is harder edged, with more grunt and handling capability. We added adjustable shocks so the driver can even tailor their ride. This truck was designed and tested for those who seek maximum adventure both on and off the road,” said Gary Patterson, Shelby President.

The truck also gets a new two-stage shock system, bigger wheels and tires, light bars, and an upgraded interior with fancy red trim. We think it could use a few more light bars to really make it shine, but hey, it’s your truck.

“Over the past year, we worked with key partners, including Ford Motor Company, to develop a Shelby version of the truck,” said Vince LaViolette, Shelby VP. “After rigorous testing and development, we built a handful of 2017 versions that quietly hit dealer showrooms. Now we’re ready to offer the truck for the 2018 model year.”

The 2018 Shelby Raptor is now in production and available for order.
