Land Rover Offers New Travel Adventures Featuring Discovery SUV

Land Rover is now offering two adventure travel experiences in Utah and Namibia featuring the new Discovery. The trips give customers the opportunity to push the new Discovery to its performance limits while simultaneously enjoying a trip of a lifetime.

“Adventure plays a key part in what makes for an exhilarating drive – whether it be an iconic road trip or on the road-less-travelled,” said Jaguar Land Rover’s Global Experiential Marketing Director Mark Cameron, in a release. “To do this from behind the wheel of the new Discovery makes it unique. These driving adventures will offer an exceptional driving experience where our customers will get the chance to push the vehicle to its limits and enjoy unforgettable surroundings.”

Starting at an African Lodge, the Namibia excursion offers eight days of breathtaking scenery and exotic wildlife as you trek across some of the continent’s most rugged landscape. Etosha National Park, the Namib Desert, and other destinations will be explored following a briefing from a Land Rover Experience instructor.

The Namibia Adventure leaves on May 1, 2018, and costs $6,943 per person, based on double occupancy. The fee covers all of the planned activities on the trip, including meals, accommodations, and airport transportation (though not airfare).

The five-day Utah excursion takes place near the city of Moab in the beautiful, otherworldly landscape of Arches National Park. Explorers will get to experience the Seven Mile Rim, Hell’s Revenge Trails, and Poison Spider Mesa trail in an action-packed, off-road adventure.

The Utah adventure begins on October 21, 2017, and costs $5,250 per person, based on double occupancy. The fee covers all of the planned activities on the trip, meals, accommodations, and airport transportation.

The new Discovery features a lighter, aluminum body making it 1,000 pounds lighter than the LR4 it replaces. It also performs far better than its predecessor with its supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that produces 340 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 option that produces 254 hp and a hefty 443 lb-ft. The Discovery offers available three-row seating and features a ton of off-road technologies like All-Terrain Progress Control, which adjusts throttle and steering response and traction control settings based on the environment its sensors detect, and Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 system with selectable drive modes.
